His heritage breed pigs, the renowned Mangalitsa and Berkshire crosses, roam diverse woodlands and pastures, foraging naturally while being supplemented with feed mixes grown regeneratively right there on the farm. Any purchased feed is certified organic, and the pigs are always finished using a soy-free mix. This thoughtful approach not only results in delicious, high-quality pork but also helps to regenerate the land, mirroring the principles we follow on our farm.

At Blue Dirt Farm, the pigs are rotated frequently to new areas of pasture, ensuring they have access to fresh forage while also contributing to soil health. Scott’s commitment to these regenerative practices ensures that the pigs lead a low-stress life, resulting in meat that is tender, juicy, and full of flavor—a testament to the benefits of farming in harmony with nature.
