A Box Worth of Recipes

Ever open up your box from Grass Fed Cattle Co. and ask yourself, now what will I make with all of this? While our family is all for burgers on the grill or sausage links alongside our eggs at breakfast, we also like to keep things interesting.

Hi everyone, I'm Krista from Happy Healthy Casa. I’m a holistic health enthusiast, teacher and stay-at-home mama to a busy 4-year-old. I am passionate about buying local, high quality meat, as well as cooking nutrient dense meals for my family. Which is precisely why, today, I am thrilled to be sharing in seven of our favorite healthy and flavorful recipes for a box full of Grass Fed Cattle Co. products.

1. CAULIFLOWER SHEPHERD'S PIE (GROUND BEEF)

This dish from Unbound Wellness just screams comfort food. If you have never tried cauliflower mash before, you are missing out. Not only is it a family favorite around here, but when combined with the flavors, high quality ground beef and veggies in this dish, there just isn't anything quite like it!

2. INSTANT POT BEEF STEW (STEW MEAT)

I don't know about you, but if I am looking for a filling meal with leftovers for later, stew is almost always a list topper. This Beef Stew from Whole Kitchen Sink, using Grassfed Cattle Co. stew meat, is a go-to over here that never disappoints. While the recipe is delicious as is, I like to toss in some spinach right before serving for some added greens as well. (Note: This one can also be prepared in the slow cooker.)

3. MOSTLY VEGGIE STEAK STIR FRY (SIRLOIN STEAK)

Not only do I love the flavor of stir fry, but I appreciate that it's a forgiving dish. You can essentially toss in just about any vegetable, and somehow, it works! When making sirloin steak stir fry I usually loosely base our meal off of this recipe from Our Salty Kitchen. I've found her stir fry sauce to be tasty and tips for steak prep helpful. Beyond that, I like to use stir fry nights as a way to experiment with vegetable combos and clear out the fridge!

4. APPLE CIDER PULLED PORK (PORK SHOULDER)

This juicy pulled pork from The Natural Nurturer is a hit over here in the fall during apple picking season. But let's be honest, we eat it year round. I love tossing some diced apples in the pot for added flavor and serving up this dish on a bed of greens.

5. SHEET PAN BREAKFAST HASH (PORK SAUSAGE LINKS)

Like stir fry, sheet pan meals are great for combining a variety of flavors and working with what you've got. They can also be made for any meal of the day. This Sheet Pan Breakfast Hash was inspired by Paleo Running Momma. She used bacon, I used sausage - you could use either or both. Another added bonus of sheet pan meals - minimal dishes. Even your egg cooks right in the mix.

6. HAWAIIAN CHICKEN WINGS (CHICKEN WINGS)

Can I be honest? I am a wimp when it comes to food with a kick. So when I found these sweet Hawaiian Chicken Wings from All the Healthy Things, they spoke to my soul. With the flavors of coconut aminos, pineapple and ginger, your taste buds will feel like they are on the island. That said, if you prefer wings with more a traditional kick, her crispy Buffalo Wings might be more your style.

7. CHICKEN AND RICE SOUP (CHICKEN THIGHS/BREAST)

When stew isn't an option, this Chicken and Rice Soup from The Movement Menu makes an appearance in our home. It is equally as filling, flavorful and makes for plenty leftover! I like to whip up a whole chicken, use the breast and thigh meat for this dish and save the rest for other meals. If you prep in advance, you can even use the bones from the whole chicken to make your own homemade broth.
