Banh Mi (Vietnamese Style) Burger Recipe
Banh Mi Burger Recipe
*Serves 4
Ingredients:
3/4 - 1 lb grass fed beef
1 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Canola oil cooking spray (optional)
Jalapeño, sliced (optional)
Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons Tabasco
2 teaspoons tomato paste
1 garlic clove, minced
Combine beef, carrots, cilantro, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper in a large bowl and form into four (4-inch) patties. Grill over medium heat or broil, flipping once, until cooked to your liking, about 6 to 8 minutes. Or, spray a large skillet with cooking spray and cook over medium heat, 6 to 8 minutes.
Whisk mayonnaise, tabasco, tomato paste and garlic together. Spread on baguette. For an easy and healthy addition toss shredded carrots, cucumbers and lettuce with rice vinegar and a pinch of sugar and pile on top of the burger. Top with burger with jalapeño for an extra kick!
